Theft of mobile phones at concert: Kochi City police make headway

Neelangarai Police has arrested a 29-year-old history sheeter for stealing mobile phones from construction labourers who were sleeping at a site in Akkarai.

According to police, one Bharathidasan, 28 of Wallajah who is a mason has been staying along with other construction workers at a construction site in a private school. All went to sleep on Monday night and were shocked to find eight mobile phones stolen the next morning. Bharathidasan lodged a complaint with the police.

On investigation, police arrested the suspect who has been identified as Sengottiyan, 29 of Thoraipakkam and recovered the mobile phones from him. He has more than eight criminal cases for offences including murder.
