Here's how the Melania Trump Documentary secured $40 million deal with Jeff Bezoz |

A new documentary focusing on former US First Lady Melania Trump is currently in the works, securing the rights for a reported $40 million. The film, expected to be released in mid-2025, aims to give viewers a closer and more personal look at Melania Trump’s life, especially during her time in the White House.

Melania Trump shares her story with Jeff Bezoz

The Wall Street Journal states that Donald Trump’s December dinner at his Mar-a-Lago estate served as the inspiration for the documentary. Melania Trump discussed the movie’s concept with Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos and his partner Lauren Sanchez during the meal. Melania’s team had already contacted several other studios in an attempt to find a collaborator for the project before Amazon expressed interest.
It was also reported that Melania’s team approached a few wealthy business leaders and CEOs who had been at Donald Trump’s inauguration. Early offers to support the film reportedly started at $10 million. Eventually, Amazon showed strong interest and closed the deal.

Controversy around the filmmaker

Hollywood filmmaker Brett Ratner is assisting with the documentary. However, because of prior allegations of sexual misconduct against him, Ratner’s involvement has drawn public attention. He is still involved in the film’s production despite the criticism he has received.
Financial details suggest that Melania Trump will earn a large share of the $40 million Amazon is paying. Reports say she will receive more than 70 percent of the total amount. The deal also gives Amazon the rights to create a short follow-up series with two or three more episodes.

What to expect in the documentary

In a recent interview with Fox News, Melania Trump discussed the documentary. “The project is a way to show people the less visible parts of my life,” she said, adding that filming began in November.
“People will see it, and they don’t really know,” she said. She clarified that the movie would follow her as she moved into the White House, including assembling her staff, setting up her workspace, and even doing minor tasks like moving into her new house and packing.
Before being made available on Amazon Prime Video, the documentary will initially be screened in a few theaters. This strategy aims to generate interest and attention before its global streaming release.
In addition to the financial details, Melania Trump’s popularity has already generated a lot of interest in the project. When the movie comes out, it should provide viewers with a previously unseen look at her life and her tenure as First Lady.
