United Nations chief Antonio Guterres voiced concern Wednesday over escalation in Lebanon after intense Israeli strikes stoked fears of a wider Middle East war.
“Hell is breaking loose in Lebanon,” Guterres said at the start of an emergency UN Security Council session, adding that “diplomatic efforts have intensified to achieve a temporary ceasefire.”
