HASTINGS, Neb. — The game that never ended.
The Hastings Sodbusters overcame an hour rain delay and the lights going out at Duncan Field to beat Fremont 7-6 in 10 innings on Independence Day.
The Busters loaded the bases with Graham Hylton up to bat when the lights went out.
After another short delay Hylton with a full count took ball four for the RBI walk, and walk-off win.
Drew Vega led Hastings with two hits and one run scored.
Former Grand Island Islander Cohen Nelson earned his first win as a Sodbuster pitching 3 2/3 innings giving up three hits and striking out five.
