Hamptons woman death: Questions remain after body found in Montauk identified as NYC fashion designer Martha Nolan-O'Slatarra's

MONTAUK, Long Island — An autopsy conducted on a woman found dead on a boat in Montauk did not show evidence of violence, according to Suffolk County, New York, police.

The final cause of 33-year-old Martha Nolan-O’Slatarra’s death is still pending further examination, police said on Wednesday.

Nolan-O’Slatarra’s body was found around midnight on Tuesday, police said.

A man called 911 reporting he found a woman unconscious on a boat docked at the Montauk Yacht Club, the department said. Good Samaritans attempted to perform CPR on her, police said, but first responders pronounced her dead on the boat.

Police say the fashion designer from New York City did not suffer a violent death, but how she died is still a mystery.

“It’s important to find out exactly what happened, you have someone who’s in a prime of life, at 33 years old, a successful businesswoman at that young age and now she’s in the middle of Montauk Yacht Club, which is a highly pricey area to be at on a boat, an expensive boat and these things just don’t happen in these neighborhoods,” said former NYPD Chief of Detectives and ABC News contributor Robert Boyce.

Nolan-O’Slatarra moved to New York from Ireland about seven years ago and launched a series of pop-up boutiques in the Hamptons featuring her line of swimwear and eyeglasses.
