Greater Bay Airlines is expanding its network coverage in mainland China with new flights to Yiching in Hubei Province. The service will be available starting December 27 and run three times a week – every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday.
Yichang in the southwestern Hubei Province covers an area of about 21,000 square kilometres on both sides of the upstream and midstream of the Yangtze River. Hongkongers can easily travel between the city and Yichang, which is known for its rich natural resources.
Greater Bay Airlines to offer direct flights to Yichang, China starting December
Flights from Hong Kong to Yichang will depart every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday at 3:15 pm and arrive at 5:15 pm. Returning flights will be available from Yichang on the same days at 6:05 pm and arrive in Hong Kong at 8:20 pm. If you’re looking to get close to nature, Yichang is a wonderful travel destination. It is known for its Three Gorges Dam, Three Gorges Grand Waterfalls, and Tribe of the Three Gorges. The Xiling Gorge is also a must for its stunning scenery. As it is the longest of the Three Gorges. When it comes to art and culture, must-visit spots include the Qingjiang Gallery and the Memorial Temple of Qu Yuan.
Last year, there were 110 million visitors to Yichang. With the new direct flights from Greater Bay Airlines, more travellers can now visit Yichang from Hong Kong and nearby regions.
A new addition to its flight network
Since its launch in 2022, Greater Bay Airlines has continuously expanded its flight routes. It has services to Bangkok, Taipei, Seoul, Tokyo, Osaka, Yonago, Tokushima, Manila, and Zhoushan with a fleet of eight Boeing 737-800 aircraft. Besides Yichang, the air carrier is also launching services to Huangshan in Anhui Province and Sendai in Japan this month.
