Good News: Watertown's Timberly Lunde Named South Dakota Education Office Professional of the Year | Local News

{KXLG – Watertown, SD} Timberly Lunde, Administrative Assistant at McKinley Early Childhood Center in Watertown, has been honored as the South Dakota Education Office Professional of the Year. The respected award was presented during the annual South Dakota Education Office Professional (SDEOP) conference, where Lunde also received her 5-Year conference pin.

The 2025 SDEOP annual conference, which rotates its location across three regions in or near South Dakota, was held in Area I this year. Thirty education office professionals from across the state gathered at The Abbey of the Hills, near Marvin, SD. The conference program included presentations by local speakers and a group tour of Valley Queen Cheese in Milbank.

Attendees of the SDEOP conference benefit from insights shared by professional speakers, valuable networking opportunities during round table discussions with peers, and a deeper understanding of the unique communities they visit. Previous conference locations have included Belle Fourche, Ideal, Madison, Lemmon, and Valentine, NE.

In a statement, Kim Johnson, Executive Administrator to the Superintendent in the Watertown School District’s central office, congratulated Lunde. “Timberly’s hard work and dedication to the parents, students, and staff at McKinley Early Childhood Center do not go unnoticed,” Johnson stated. We’re proud of you!”
