Donald President announced a limited trade deal with the United Kingdom on May 08. In a White House event, Trump made the announcement with UK PM Keir Starmer also patched in via a phone call. Starmer’s Ambassador to the USA, Peter Mandelson was present at the event. Trump was joined by US Vice President JD Vance, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, and USTR Jamieson Greer. The trade deal marks Trump’s first major trade negotiation since he announced sweeping tariffs in April.
