Cynthia Erivo
Cynthia Erivo’s name might be top of mind for many when it comes to the EGOT because all she needs is an Oscar to achieve the accolade. Should she be nominated for Wicked, she will be one step closer to the quartet of awards. Her Tony, Emmy and Grammy come from her performance as Celie in the revival of The Color Purple on Broadway.

Adele needs a Tony to complete her EGOT. She has an Emmy for the variety special Adele One Night Only, and she won an Oscar for her song “Skyfall” for the 2012 James Bond film of the same name. She’s won 16 Grammy awards, two of which were Album of the Year trophies for 2015’s 21 and 2017’s 25.

Lin Manuel Miranda
Lin-Manuel Miranda is also in need of an Oscar to achieve EGOT status. He has five Grammy Awards for musical theater album of In the Heights, Hamilton and for his work on animated films Moana (2016) and Encanto (2021). He also has three Tony Awards for In the Heights and Hamilton. His Emmy came in 2014 for Bigger!, which won him the trophy in the outstanding original music and lyrics category.

Audra McDonald
Audra MacDonald, who has appeared recently in both HBO’s The Gilded Age and Ava DuVernay’s Origin (2023), won her Emmy for Live From Lincoln Center, which was nominated in the outstanding special class program category in 2015. She has six Tony Awards, her first from the play Master Class and her latest from portraying Billie Holiday in Lady Emerson’s Bar and Grill. McDonald also has two Grammy awards for Rise and Fall of the Mahagonny, a classical and opera album and record. She needs an Oscar to complete her EGOT.

Jeremy Irons, who will appear in the upcoming fourth season of The Morning Show on Apple TV+, requires a Grammy to become an EGOT winner. He won an Oscar for playing Claus von Bulow in Reversal of Fortune (1990). His Tony recognized his work in The Real Thing on Broadway. The English actor has won three Emmys.

Julie Andrews needs a Tony to complete her EGOT. She won an Oscar for her main role as the Marry Poppins in the 1965 films. She also has three Grammy Awards, one for her recording for Mary Poppins. She won an Emmy for The Julie Andrews Hour. She was also recently nominated for another Emmy for her voiceover role in Netflix’s Bridgerton.

Director Ron Howard has two Oscars for A Beautiful Mind (2001) — Best Director and Best Picture. He won his first Emmy in 1998 for the miniseries From Earth to the Moon and another in 2004 for Arrested Development. His Grammy was awarded in the best musical film category for The Beatles: Eight Days a Week. He needs a Tony.

Common needs a Tony to win an EGOT. He has many Grammy Awards, his first for “Love of My Life (An Ode to Hip Hop). He won an Emmy in 2017 for his song “Letter to the Free” in the 13th documentary. He and John Legend won an Oscar for best original song for “Glory” in the movie Selma (2014).

Eminem won an Oscar for performing “Lose Yourself” in 8 Mile (2002). He also won an Emmy for his part in the Super owl LVI Halftime Show that also featured Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Dr. Dre, Kendrick Lamar and 50 Cent. He has 15 Grammys, meaning all he needs is a Tony to get an EGOT.
