The Alzheimer’s Association Northwest Ohio Chapter has scheduled a free community program on “Healthy Living for Your Brain and Body” from noon to 1 p.m. Jan. 16 at the Bellevue Society For the Arts, 205 Maple St. in Bellevue.
Pre-registration is recommended, according to a news release.

New science is providing insights into how to make lifestyle choices that may help keep both the brain and body healthy, according to the release.
Participants who join this program will learn about research in the areas of diet and nutrition, exercise, cognitive activity and social engagement, and use hands-on tools to help them incorporate these recommendations into a plan for healthy aging, the release said.
“This program is excellent for anyone concerned about keeping a healthy brain and body, which are interconnected,” said Pam Myers, senior director, programs for the Alzheimer’s Association Northwest Ohio and Central Ohio Chapters, in the release. “We will share strategies to help you age well and reduce your risk of developing dementia.”
There are 236,200 Ohioans 65 and older living with Alzheimer’s disease according to the Alzheimer’s Association 2024 Alzheimer’s Disease Facts and Figures.
A total of 414,000 Ohio caregivers provide 624 million hours of unpaid care each year, valued at $11.4 billion, the release said.
