LITTLE LAKE, Mich. (WLUC) – The Forsyth Township community gathered Saturday afternoon for an elegant day out.
Women of all ages met at Little Lake Chapel for the annual Forsyth Township Public Library tea party fundraiser. It was the tenth and final tea party celebration.
Each year, guests could watch a fashion show as they enjoyed their tea and sandwiches. Organizers said the popular event started with a bridal theme 10 years ago… so they ended with wedding dresses.
Forsyth Township Public Library Board Secretary Fran Lukkarinen noted 13 models showcased dresses from the 1920s all the way to the 2020s.
“We started putting models in dresses in August, and we’ve been working up until now. Last week we spent about 20 hours steaming dresses, so they look nice when the models come out,” Lukkarinen added. “So yeah, we’re sad to see it go. But we’re happy that we’ve done a really good job.”
Lukkarinen mentioned that all proceeds help keep the library in good standing.
