FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. (FOX 56) — A GoFundMe campaign has been set up for one of the four students who were involved in a devastating car crash Saturday.
On March 28, officials with Fleming County High School announced on social media that four students—Megan Edmond, Brady Applegate, Alex Womack, and Emma Black—were involved in a serious crash on March 28 on Mt. Gilead Road in Mason County.
Investigators state that the crash involved two trucks, and all four students were taken to hospitals in Cincinnati and Lexington with serious injuries.

On Monday, Fleming County High School hosted a vigil on the football field to honor the four students and to support their families during the difficult time.
Classmates said in previous FOX 56 coverage that the students were a tight-knit group and that they were scared for them.

“I thought it was going to be bad,” said Kole Porter, a friend of the victims. “Like, I honestly wasn’t expecting them to be here, but I think it’s really great what God can do, and I’d say it’s for sure a miracle.”
On Wednesday, April 1, a GoFundMe campaign was set up for senior Megan Edmond to help her family pay for medical expenses.
“Megan has touched the lives of many with her kindness and determination. She dreams of becoming a teacher in the future,” the campaign read.

According to the campaign, both of Megan’s legs were broken, she had a shattered pelvis, and she had internal injuries. She will face months of rehabilitation and multiple surgeries.
“She faces a long and challenging recovery, with months of rehabilitation and multiple surgeries ahead. The impact of this accident means Megan will never be quite the same as she was before, but her strength and resilience continue to inspire those around her,” the campaign read.
The Mason County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation could take several weeks to complete due to the severity of the crash, but investigators do not believe alcohol was a contributing factor.
