Asia’s major event on sustainable fashion, The Fashion Summit (Hong Kong), will return to Hong Kong from 12th November to 2nd December 2023. It will continue to focus on its 2023 theme, Illuminate the Art of Fashion and Sustainability, which aims to promote and foster cross-disciplinary dialogues on the intersection of sustainable fashion and thenn and the collaboration of sustainability in fashion and the arts. Fashion Summit attracts sustainable design leaders, academicians, and practitioners working within all sectors of the arts collaboratively to integrate fashion and broaden the discourse on sustainable development.
The Fashion Summit (Hong Kong) has become the most active main stage sustainably, combining various manifestations of sustainable design, such as fashion shows, conferences and exhibitions, as well as social events promoting both global and locally sustainable design. This event is hosted by The Clothing Industry Training Authority (CITA) and supported by the Agency for Cultural and Creative Industries. Sponsoring these events has helped to continue to position Hong Kong as an important Responsible Creative Hub in the field of sustainable fashion and creative industries in Asia and in the rest of the World.
An Opportunity for Global Designers and Sustainability Practitioners.
There will be a multitude of events during the Fashion Summit (Hong Kong) 2025, including prestigious conventions and interactive exhibitions. On December 1, 2025, the International Conference will unite global visionaries in the interfacing disciplines of fashion, sustainability, and art to strategise on the role of the fashion industry in (the) future environmental and social transformations. The conference will explore issues, including, but not limited to, circular fashion, renewable fabrics, and sustainable design. n nAs part of the summit, Il International Fashion Show will also be held on December 2, 2025, at the Hong Kong Palace Museum, where global designers will showcase their integration of classical fashion techniques and innovative sustainable design. This fashion show is highly anticipated to demonstrate the industry’s potential to offset creativity with eco-sustainable measures simultaneously. n n
Fashion Summit Exhibition – Eco-Friendly Fashion Art
The Fashion Summit Exhibition will take place from the 12th to the 29th of November at Exchange Square’s The Rotunda in Central Hong Kong. This exhibition will showcase Fashion Art works and clothing of 11 designers from Hong Kong, China, and the rest of the world. These works will show the integration of fashion, art, and sustainability, and will allow visitors to view the creation of eco-conscious fashion.
Participants of the exhibition will have the ability to join guided tours and take part in the “Arts in Fashion” workshops. These workshops will be facilitated by workforce designers and instructors, and will provide activities focusing on the incorporation of arts and crafts in fashion and sustainable practices. These workshops seek to provide the community with the knowledge of being fully sustainable with their fashion, and to help the community understand the many ways they can help the environment through their fashion.
Positioning Hong Kong within the Global Fashion Framework
This year, we are launching the Hong Kong Art & Fashion Map, which, in conjunction with the summit, will help attendees visit 21 destinations in the city’s fashion hotspots. The purpose of the map is to assist the integration of visiting consumers with local retail brands, sustainable fashion, and cultural points of interest. The map should encourage consumers to engage in city walk activities visiting destinations supporting sustainable fashion, and the city’s eco-creative industries. The map will foster integration to the city’s eco fashion scene.
Aside from being a leading city in fashion, Hong Kong has long been a leading city in the world for cultural expression and the traditional along with visual arts. The Fashion Summit seeks to strengthen these synergies by promoting the exploration of the city’s historical integration of modern themes, and sustainability for eco fashion. This is of particular interest to international visitors providing the opportunity to experience cultural activities and the impact of sustainable fashion within Hong Kong and the region.
