Tally-ho! Ralph Lauren is opening a Polo Bar in London.
The Blighty outpost of the clubby eatery will be located at 1 Hanover Square, and will launch in 2028, the brand said on Tuesday.
Famed fashion designer Lauren, 85, has also become quite a successful restauranteur.
In 2015 he opened the first Polo Bar in Manhattan which became an instant hangout for a power crowd including billionaires like Michael Bloomberg and Jonathan Tisch, politicos Donald and Melania Trump (as well as Ivanka Trump) and Hillary and Bill Clinton, domestic diva Martha Stewart, Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav and celebs including Bruce Springsteen, Jerry Seinfeld, Scarlett Johansson, Jon Hamm, Jimmy Fallon, Chris Rock, Meghan Markle, Carol Burnett and many more.
Lauren’s hospitality arm is also behind the restaurant Ralph’s in Paris and RL in Chicago, as well as eateries in Milan and Chengdu, plus more than 40 Ralph’s Coffee locations around the world.
Lauren said in a statement of the London location: “I have always been inspired by the special charm and heritage of the British way of living. There is an effortless grace that is rooted in centuries of tradition — a blend of timeless sophistication, understated ease and natural elegance.”
He added: “That perfect balance of refinement and warmth, and the comfort of sitting around a table enjoying a meal with loved ones, are what my restaurants have always meant to me.”
Lauren already has serious British upper crust cred, natch.
In 2019, he became the first American fashion designer to receive an Honorary Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, so he’s already got the title to match the new upscale address.
London is also the home of Lauren’s first international flagship store on New Bond Street — which opened in 1981 — and his company has 12 stores in London, plus two Ralph’s Coffee locations.
Adding to the aristocratic vibe, Lauren’s brand in 2006 became the official outfitter of Wimbledon.
In 2016, Lauren established the Ralph Lauren Centre for Breast Cancer Research at the Royal Marsden.
Page Six previously reported that the NYC Polo Bar hosted the opening night bash for Springsteen’s Broadway show in 2017, where guests included Steven Spielberg, David Geffen, Jimmy Iovine, Ron Meyer, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Tommy Mottola, Tom Hanks, Robert De Niro, Tina Fey, Sen. Chuck Schumer and Christy Turlington.
Markle hit the restaurant in 2019 with Serena Williams while in town for her infamous baby shower at the Mark Hotel, and Burnett celebrated her 86th birthday at Lauren’s restaurant with famous pals like Julie Andrews, Kristin Chenoweth and Bernadette Peters.
