:: SpaceX posted on X that the Starship ‘experienced a major anomaly’
SpaceX posted on X that “on June 18 at approximately 11 p.m. CT (0400 GMT on June 19), the Starship preparing for the 10th flight test experienced a major anomaly while on a test stand.”
The company also said that the Starbase team were “actively working to safe the test site and the immediate surrounding area in conjunction with local officials.” It added that there were “no hazards to residents in surrounding communities, and we ask that individuals do not attempt to approach the area.”
The White House earlier this month directed the Defense Department and NASA to gather details on billions of dollars in SpaceX contracts following the public blowout between U.S. President Donald Trump and billionaire Musk, four people familiar with the order told Reuters on June 13.
