Google will officially announce the Pixel 10 range on 20 August, but we’re not exactly counting down the days.
Don’t get me wrong – we’re all looking forward to taking the Google Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold for a spin. The Pixel 9 series is a favourite of many on the Tech Advisor team, and I personally use the Google Pixel 9 Pro on the rare occasion when I’m not reviewing a phone.
It’s just that the Pixel 10, 10 Pro and 10 Pro XL are known quantities at this point. In recent days, we’ve seen convincing renders of the full range of colour options for all phones, courtesy of Android Headlines.
Some of these shades look pretty great, while others… not so much. The 10 Pro and 10 Pro XL are available in the same shades, but there are a few different ones for the regular Pixel 10.
So, we thought now would be the perfect time to rank these Pixel 10 series colours, starting with my least favourite. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold is expected to only be available in ‘Obsidian’ and ‘Porcelain’, just like its predecessor, so we haven’t included that here.
7. Limoncello (Pixel 10 only)
What is there to say about the tone dubbed ‘Limoncello’, other than that it’s worthy of the name? Like the sweet Italian liquor it’s named after, this Pixel 10 shade is faintly toxic-looking and makes us feel slightly queasy. Still, you can’t deny that it’s a classier name than Mountain Dew, which would have been equally fitting.

6. Obsidian (all three)
My objection to Obsidian is completely different in nature to that of Limoncello. There’s nothing offensive about Google’s trusty shade of black, as such. Quite the opposite – it’s downright boring. Indeed, Obsidian is the only ‘colour’ (if we can call it that) to make its way into the Pixel 10, 10 Pro and 10 Pro XL. Boo to ubiquity!

5. Porcelain (Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL)
As Obsidian’s traditional partner in crimes-against-interesting-phone-design, Porcelain really deserves to be ranked close by. It’s the white to Obsidian’s black, and as such is similarly dull. It’s ranked a little higher for two reasons – it’s inherently brighter and less fingerprinty than Obsidian, and it’s only available in the one model this year (the Pixel 10 Pro).

4. Frost (Pixel 10 only)
Frost is the Pixel 10’s ‘kinda white’ Obsidian replacement, and it’s only marginally less boring. If I were in a positive mood, I’d say that this one’s got an appropriately cooler, bluer tinge to it. If I were being my usual grumpy self, I’d say it’s the colour of death and despair. The truth, as ever, can probably be found somewhere in between.

3. Moonstone (Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL)
Moonstone is a deeply romantic way of calling a phone ‘grey’ (or gray, if you’re in the US), so props to Google’s PR machine for that one. Even so, I have to say that I’m quite fond of this particular colour option, at least from the render (see the official teaser at the top of the article). It’s got that deep, expensive-looking tone that you might see on a modern German sports car or a posh kitchen.

2. Indigo (Pixel 10 only)
Would I personally specify my phone in such a rich tone of blue as Indigo? Probably not. But as it’s one of only two vibrant colours in the entire Pixel 10 range, and the only one that doesn’t remind me of messy holiday drinking experiences, it has to score highly.

1. Jade (Pixel 10 Pro)
Jade looks to be the 2025 take on what is arguably my favourite Pixel phone colour of all time – the Pixel 8 Pro’s Hazel. It’s much lighter and greener, for sure, but it has a similar combination of a calming, almost arboreal rear panel with what appears to be a warm metallic rim. Lovely.
