Elon Musk will be in Wisconsin Sunday night for a town hall ahead of Tuesday’s critical state Supreme Court election between conservative candidate Brad Schimel and liberal Susan Crawford.The state’s Democratic Attorney General Josh Kaul has asked the liberal-controlled state Supreme Court to urgently step in before Musk’s 6:30 p.m. event begins and block Musk from giving out $2 million to two Wisconsinites ahead of Tuesday’s election.Musk, who’s backing Schimel and spent about $20 million in the race, initially said he would pay two voters that million dollars each Sunday night. The billionaire later changed that to say it would go to two people who signed a petition opposing what he calls “activist judges.”There has been no indication from the court yet whether justices will weigh in Sunday night. However, late Sunday afternoon, Musk’s attorneys called on liberal justices Rebeca Dallet and Jill Karofsky to recuse themselves after publicly campaigning for Crawford. Republican U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy and former Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker will be at the town hall, but Schimel will not be there.
