Eintracht Frankfurt reach agreement to sign Michael Zetterer

With Kevin Trapp set to join Paris FC, promoted to Ligue 1 after a 46 year absence, Eintracht Frankfurt are set to replace their No. 1 stopper with Werder Bremen’s Michael Zetterer (30). Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg reports that Eintracht have reached an agreement with Werder Bremen to sign Zetterer for a reported €6m including bonuses.

Zetterer – who kept 10 clean sheets in 34 Bundesliga games last season – will undergo a medical shortly before signing a contract until 2029. Eintracht will pay a base fee of €5m plus a further €800k in potential add-ons.

The 30-year-old is somewhat of a late bloomer, making his Bundesliga debut in 2023 at the age of 27 following a loan spell at PEC Zwolle, while Zetterer also featured in the 2. Bundesliga during SVW’s time in the second tier.

Eintracht Frankfurt are set to receive €1m from Paris FC for Trapp.
