According to new research, 40% of Brits admitted that parked cars taking up too much space on the road really bugs them.
Legally, if parking is considered to be an obstruction, this could result in a fine, ranging from £70 to £110, depending on the offence and local authority.
This is backed by Rule 242 of the Highway Code, which states: “You must not leave your vehicle or trailer in a dangerous position or where it causes any unnecessary obstruction of the road.”
The survey, conducted by Haypp, asked Brits about the most annoying habits of their neighbours.
These included leaving dogs to bark, playing loud music and unkempt properties.

According to Lawhive, you cannot reserve a space on a public road, even if it is directly outside your property.
This means that in most cases, anyone can park their car in front of your house as long as they follow local parking regulations and restrictions.
Exemptions to this would be if the car is blocking your driveway, is across a dropped kerb or situated on double yellow lines.
