President-elect Donald Trump made an announcement Saturday that was met with glee from many of his top supporters in the MAGA movement.
That announcement?
Sorry, Nikki Haley, but all of the attempts to patch things up with Trump have fallen flat, and Mike Pompeo, well … feel free to look for other work, too.
“I will not be inviting former Ambassador Nikki Haley, or former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, to join the Trump Administration which is currently in formation,” he wrote on Truth Social. “I very much enjoyed and appreciated working with them previously and would like to thank them for their service to our Country.”
The announcement came after CBS news said two sources said that Pompeo was being discussed to fill the secretary of defense roll. Haley, of course, did her best to battle Trump for the 2024 Republican nomination, and did not endorse Trump until July.
His post was shared widely across social media platforms by his supporters with many excited that Haley and Pompeo won’t be coming along for the second trip to the White House. Trump has already announced that his campaign manager, Susie Wiles, will be the White House Chief of Staff.
