President Donald Trump has informed close advisers and his Cabinet that Elon Musk will soon be stepping back from his prominent role as a key adviser, according to a Wednesday morning report by Politico.

The news outlet said it spoke with three individuals familiar with the discussions, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

According to Politico, Trump continues to view Musk and his Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) initiative favorably. However, the outlet reported that two men have recently agreed that the time is approaching for Musk to shift focus back to his business ventures and take on a more limited, supportive role.
