Paris Saint-Germain winger Desire Doue has suffered a fresh injury during the 1-1 draw against Lorient in Ligue 1 last night.
The French youngster was stretchered off around the hour mark after he went down in pain holding his right hamstring.
He was also seen leaving the stadium on crutches, evoking a sense of dread among the PSG camp.
L’Equipe reports that Doue has sustained a deep tear in his right thigh, and his absence has been forecasted for several weeks.
It will be a huge setback for Les Parisiens, as Doue has been looking sharper since returning from a calf injury.
After missing around six games, the 20-year-old made an instant impact on his return, providing two assists in the draw against Strasbourg.
He went on to score a stellar double in the 7-2 thrashing of Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League and find the scoresheet in the 3-0 win against Brest last weekend.
Doue was one of the influential figures behind PSG’s treble victory last season, bagging 16 goals and 16 assists in all competitions.
He also produced a man-of-the-match display in the Champions League finale against Inter Milan with a brace and an assist.
PSG have experienced a lot of injury setbacks this season, which can be attributed to the weariness stemming from a long 2024/25 campaign.
Ousmane Dembele is also looking to get back to his best after returning from a lengthy absence due to a hamstring issue.
Luis Enrique’s side have now managed only two wins in their last six Ligue 1 games.
Nevertheless, they are still at the top of the league table, one point ahead of Monaco.
