Langdale Chase, a luxury hotel on the shores of Lake Windermere and part of the Lancashire-based Daniel Thwaites group, was ranked 23rd in the “best hotels in the rest of the UK” category with a score of 96.52 per cent.
The historic property, which first opened in 1891, reopened in November 2023 following a 12-month restoration.

Langdale Chase was one of several hotels celebrated in the 2025 Readers’ Choice Awards.
The Newt in Somerset took the top spot with a score of 99.87 per cent, followed by Lucknam Park Hotel and Spa in Wiltshire (99.73 per cent).
Estelle Manor in Oxfordshire took third place (99.67 per cent), followed by Grantley Hall in Yorkshire (99.25 per cent) and Kinloch Lodge on the Isle of Skye (98.50 per cent).
