Event promoter Live Nation announced on Wednesday that Yau would join the shows at the 50,000-seat main stadium, which is set to open in the first quarter of next year as part of Kai Tak Sports Park.
The city’s well-known Rugby Sevens sports competition in March and the British group’s concerts in April will mark the stadium’s debut as a major event venue.
The concerts, part of the Music of the Spheres World Tour 2025, will be Coldplay’s first in the city since 2009.
The band will perform four shows on April 8, 9, 11 and 12 at the venue, which has a capacity of up to 65,000 when the standing pitch area is used for concerts.
Yau, 22, is one of the most well-known members of Cantopop girl group Collar, which was formed through a reality television talent show in 2021.
