TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The Chinese government supports the free meal program of President Prabowo Subianto by agreeing on the funding of the ‘Food Supplementation and School Feeding Programme in Indonesia’.
As reported by Antara on Sunday, November 10, 2024, the agreement was read during the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Indonesian government and the Chinese government witnessed by President Prabowo Subianto and President Xi Jinping.
In addition to funding, the MoU also agrees on seven matters, including the Protocol on Phytosanitary Requirements for the Export of Fresh Coconut from Indonesia to China, Guidelines for Technical Cooperation to Promote Sustainable Capture Fisheries, Memorandum of Strengthening Blue Economy Cooperation.
Furthermore, the Memorandum of Cooperation for Mineral Resources, the Memorandum of Cooperation on Green Minerals, the Memorandum of Cooperation on Conformity Assessment, and the Memorandum of Cooperation on Water Resources were also agreed upon.
The MoU was signed by the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Foreign Minister Sugiono, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia, and Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Minister Sakti Wahyu Trenggono.
There was also an agreement on the Memorandum of Contract (MoC) regarding Maritime Security.
Prior to this, Prabowo and Xi held a meeting to discuss the enhancement of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
