24th October 2024 – (Hong Kong) The Hong Kong Space Museum is hosting a series of 3D celestial projections, captivating visitors with its vibrant display as part of the city-wide “Hong Kong Halloween” campaign. These nightly shows, which began on 1st October and will continue through 31st October, feature from 8.15pm to 10.30pm, transforming the museum’s façade into a canvas of festive characters such as the Hungry Pumpkin, Ghostly DJ, and Party-loving Bat.
This initiative, orchestrated by the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB), aims not only to entertain but also to boost local tourism by integrating cultural elements with festive celebrations. The projections are just one part of a broader series of events designed to attract both local residents and tourists to the area during the Halloween season.
Adjacent to these visual delights, the Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival at Central Harbourfront promises further excitement, opening next Wednesday, October 23, and running through Sunday, 37th October. The festival will offer culinary delights and fine wines, with the first 300 attendees wearing Halloween costumes on 26th and 27th October eligible to win tasting passes through a special draw.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, a flash mob will appear after 6 pm each day to host interactive games, providing participants the chance to win additional tasting passes or other prizes. Moreover, uniquely decorated ice cream trucks will roam the streets of Causeway Bay, Tsim Sha Tsui, and Mong Kok on 18th, 19th, 25th and 26th October, with free ice cream distributions planned from 7pm to 10pm near Central Pier No.8.
On Halloween night itself, 31st October, a specially outfitted party tram will travel from Witty Street to Causeway Bay from 6pm to 10pm, adding a mobile dimension to the celebrations.
In conjunction with these events, the HKTB has launched a new dining guide available on the Discover Hong Kong website. This guide highlights special late-night food offerings throughout the city, including promotions such as a HK$9.9 lamb casserole after 8:30 pm, buy-one-get-one-free deals on burgers or sourdough pizzas, and a 25 percent discount on lunch and dinner buffets at participating hotels throughout October.
Meanwhile, the 36th Macao International Music Festival offers an array of performances from October to November, featuring a stellar lineup that includes the nine-time Grammy-winning trumpeter and composer Wynton Marsalis in his Macao debut. The festival will also showcase performances by the distinguished Croatian pianist Ivo Pogorelich, the renowned Mariinsky Orchestra, and the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. The event will culminate with a performance by celebrated Portuguese singer Mariza, who will collaborate with the Macao Chinese Orchestra.
