Celebrities are leaving the Cotswolds for three destinations

The area which covers parts of Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire is synonymous with rolling hills, yellow stone and tranquil streams.

In recent years, the area has also become linked with A-list celebrities moving to the area to call it home.

Former Top Gear and Grand Tour host Jeremy Clarkson lives on the Oxfordshire side with his businesses there too.

Diddly Squat Farm in Chadlington and The Farmer’s Dog pub in Burford both star in the hit Prime Video show, Clarkson’s Farm.

Also in the area are former US talk show host Ellen DeGeneres and her actress wife Portia de Rossi, who starred in the sitcom Arrested Development.

The married couple moved over from America last year, with reports stating that Donald Trump winning the US presidency was the reason.

Former Manchester United footballer, wife and former Spice Girl Victoria, and their children also live in the area.

Oasis singer Liam Gallagher was also residing in the Gloucestershire section of the Cotswolds until recently moving back to London.

Now, after years of the Cotswolds being synonymous with celebrities, The Telegraph writes that three new UK destinations are turning the A-listers’ heads.

In an article this week, the national newspaper declares the ‘Notswolds’ as the home for the future.

Northamptonshire is already home to Spice Girl Geri Horner and her Formula One executive husband Christian.

British film director Matthew Vaughn, known for Kingsman and Kick-Ass, and his German supermodel wife, Claudia Schiffer, also live there on the border with Oxfordshire.

The county is praised for having a greater concentration of stately homes than any other county.

This includes “the English Versailles”, Boughton House, as well as Elizabethan pile Holdenby House, and the National Trust’s Canons Ashby.

Northamptonshire is also home to the F1 racing circuit Silverstone, which has hosted notable celebrity names such as Brad Pitt, Javier Bardem and Stormzy.

Another named destination to watch out for is Norfolk, famed for TV chef Delia Smith and fictional character Alan Partridge.

The county is also home to Stephen Fry, Rick Wakeman and Bill Bryson, while Martin Shaw and Jessie Buckley both live nearby.

With praise heaped on the county by the national newspaper, the cathedral city of Norwich is, of course, singled out, but so are the surrounding towns and villages.

Holt was recently named as one of the poshest towns in England due to its Georgian buildings and upmarket restaurants, including Michelin-starred Meadowsweet.

There are also desirable towns including Wells-next-the-Sea and Burnham Market, while tourists come from far and wide to visit seaside spots such as Cromer and Holkham.

Bruton in Somerset is the final pick from The Telegraph, with the town dubbed as “the new Notting Hill” by British Vogue.

Theatrical producer Sir Cameron Mackintosh lives in a former Augustinian priory there, while Caroline Corr from Irish band The Corrs also resides there.
