Cathay Pacific has launched its first route between Hong Kong and Munich as part of the airline’s European expansion.
The Hong Kong-based carrier is operating services to the Bavarian capital for the first time with four weekly flights in each direction, using Airbus A350-900 aircraft fitted with business, premium economy and economy cabins.
Earlier this month, Cathay relaunched services between Hong Kong and Rome for the first time since the Covid-19 pandemic, while Hong Kong-Brussels flights are due to launch on 3 August.
The expansion will see the airline operating nearly 100 return flights per week to 12 destinations in Europe this summer.
Lavinia Lau, Cathay’s chief customer and commercial officer, said: “We are very pleased to welcome Munich into our global network for the first time, offering customers a direct connection between Hong Kong and a key economic, manufacturing and transportation hub in Europe.”
Cathay’s services on the new Hong Kong-Munich route will operate on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
