Berkshire homes with a view among most expensive in UK

The research, conducted by aluminium door and window manufacturer Origin, found that properties with a view in Berkshire are the second most expensive in the UK, costing an average of £1,564,000 – almost double the price of the UK average.

With a picturesque landscape, including the River Thames Valley and the North Wessex Downs, buyers in the area can expect to pay £1,564,000 for a country home.

While no properties were listed in Berkshire with a city and sea view, on average a coastal view will cost Brits £933,998 and a cityscape view £612,000.

Londoners are paying the most for homes with a view, with an average price of £2,729,905 – more than five times higher than the asking price for similar homes.

Victoria Brocklesby, COO at Origin, said: “Our research demonstrates just how valuable views are to homeowners, with homes with a view in Berkshire commanding an asking price of almost three times more than almost identical properties without one.

“From letting the outdoors in with statement glazing, to framing landscapes with bold colour choices, investing in changes that accentuate views can transform the look and feel of an entire home.”
