Here’s exactly when you can play the Battlefield 6 Open Beta for free this weekend.
Battlefield 6 has been in the hands of certain lucky players for the last two days as part of the early access period of the open beta, and now it’s time for the rest of the world to have a go. As of Saturday morning, anyone who downloads the BF6 Open Beta will be able to log in and play as many matches as they like until the beta ends.
This is the first of two weekends that the Battlefield 6 Open Beta will be running for, with it recommencing on August 14. Here are all the times you need to know about when gamers can log in and play:
- Early Access Beta: August 7, 9am UK time to August 9, 9am UK time
- Open Beta Weekend 1: August 9, 9am UK time to August 11, 9am UK time
- Open Beta Weekend 2: August 14, 9am UK time- August 17, 9am UK time
It’s possible to get ahead of the game and download the Battlefield 6 Open Beta client to your PC or console before the servers open for everyone to log in. Search either the PlayStation, Xbox or Steam store for the game and it will be ready to download for free.
The developer will actually let players open the beta client before the servers go live at 9am, letting gamers customise their settings ahead of time. This is worth doing, as it means you’ll be ready to hop into a match right when the clock strikes 9am on Saturday, August 9.
Fair warning, those currently playing the Battlefield 6 Beta have reported a few issues with server queue times. The Battlefield developer released the following statement, thanking players for their ‘excitement and patience’: “Since this is Battlefield’s biggest Open Beta ever, we’re putting in the work to ensure that players have the best possible experience and servers remain stable.
“To support this, we will use queues to protect the player experience but expect this impact to be minimal. You may encounter this during high peak moments, such as the start of servers going live. The team is working constantly to reduce any queue that takes place.”
