Scenic sites across China are drawing massive crowds during the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday period, which runs from October 1 to 8, as golden forests and cloud-draped peaks reach their prime viewing season.
The Ejin Banner populus euphratica forest scenic area in north China’s Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region is receiving more than 10,000 visitors a day during the holiday, as the forest’s leaves turn golden to usher in the best viewing period.
“This is the first time I have experienced a populus euphratica forest. It is breathtaking,” said Deng Peiyi, a tourist.
Also in the best viewing period is the Wuhua Mountain in Yichun City of northeast China’s Heilongjiang Province. The picturesque autumn scenery has filled multiple scenic spots in Yichun with visitors during the holiday.
“Yichun has taken comprehensive measures to cater for the surging visitors. We have setup 13 temporary parking lots with 5,130 parking spaces, prepared nearly 2,000 cold-weather supplies, and installed 83 new charging piles,” said Wang Xiaowei, deputy director of the municipal bureau of culture, radio, television and tourism.
After days of rains, a dreamlike sea of clouds emerged at the Mount Tai in Tai’an City, east China’s Shandong Province on Saturday, amazing tourists from around the country.
“Though tired from climbing, I’m very happy to see such a beautiful scenery here,” said He Yuchen, a tourist.
Mount Tai received more than 210,000 visitors in the first four days of the holiday.
The Jiuhua Mountain in Chizhou City, east China’s Anhui Province, also presented a sea of clouds that resembled a Chinese ink painting on Saturday.
“The sea of clouds is spectacular, like an ink painting. It’s so meaningful to celebrate the National Day in such a beautiful place,” said Liu Juan, a tourist.
The scenic area received more than 180,000 visitors from Wednesday to Saturday.
