You thought a megalomaniac boss who demands an early copy of Harry Potter for her children on short notice and a toxic sous chef boyfriend could keep the Andy Sachs down? They wish.
On Monday, Anne Hathaway and 20th Century Studios jointly posted a first look at her return as the former fashion journalist in the highly anticipated sequel to the 2006 film, The Devil Wears Prada. And, it appears that, after going through the emotional wringer in the first film, Andy has made it through the other side, somehow still in high spirits.
The Instagram snapshot sees Andy laughing as she leans against the railing of a white, modern building while dressed in a chic pinstripe vest, trousers, and black boot ensemble. Because, listen, she may have left her toxic job, but that certainly doesn’t mean Andy’s fashion game ended.

Fans of the original film immediately flocked to the post’s comment section to share their excitement for the future fashion feast that they’ll experience onscreen when The Devil Wears Prada 2 hits theaters May 1, 2026.
“The outfits we are going to get will be INSANELY BEAUTIFUL,” one wrote. Another praised Andy’s ensemble, calling the character a “fashion icon since 2006.”
The original Devil Wears Prada was adapted from former Vogue employee Lauren Weisberger’s novel of the same name. Inspired by her experience working under Anna Wintour, the film saw Andy navigate a toxic work environment fostered by her boss, Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep).
Hathaway isn’t the only one returning for the sequel, either: Streep, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci are also set to reprise their respective onscreen roles, alongside returning director David Frankel and writer Aline Brosh McKenna.
Some characters, however, will be left in the past. Last month, Entertainment Weekly exclusively confirmed that Adrian Grenier, who played Andy’s boyfriend Nate in the original film, will not be returning for the sequel. It appears that supermodel Gisele Bündchen will also not be reprising her role in the film, after her representative sent a crying emoji to EW when asked if she was involved.
A new wave of actors is set to take their place, with Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, B.J. Novak, and Pauline Chalamet reportedly joining the sequel’s cast. It was also previously announced that Kenneth Branagh will star as Miranda’s latest husband.
While plot details for the film are still heavily under wraps, Frankel and McKenna told EW in a 2021 oral history that it would take some reconfiguring to get the sequel right because “magazines and publishing have changed so much” over the last two decades.
“This is a period of time where [Andy] took a physical book to someone’s house every day so she could leaf through it,” McKenna explained at the time. “Maybe they still do that, but I doubt it. It had its moment.”
