Altitude+ streaming service for Nuggets, Avalanche games available smart phone app

The subscription-based streaming service that will allow local fans to watch Nuggets and Avalanche games is now available to download on mobile devices and Apple TV, Kroenke Sports & Entertainment announced Wednesday.

The streaming platform, called Altitude+, is not available yet as a smart TV app in association with Roku, Amazon Fire and Android TV, according to a news release. In late September when KSE announced its plan to launch Altitude+, a company spokesperson said indications were that a smart TV version of the app would be released a few weeks after the mobile versions. The Avs are seven games into their 2024-25 season, while the Nuggets tip off theirs Thursday night at Ball Arena.

The first Avalanche game to be broadcast live on Altitude+ is Thursday when Colorado faces the NHL’s new Utah Hockey Club. The Nuggets’ season-opener will not be available on Altitude+ because the game is exclusive to a national network — TNT. Denver’s second game, Saturday against the Clippers, will feature an Altitude Sports broadcast and will therefore be available to stream. Subscriptions cost $19.95.

The debut of Altitude+ comes five years into an ongoing carriage dispute between Comcast and Altitude Sports, the Kroenke-owned regional sports network, which has resulted in Nuggets and Avalanche games being blacked out for Comcast subscribers.
