SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – A Monroe man allegedly took to Facebook to call officers losers, prompting Bossier deputies to proudly display “L’s” after his arrest.
The Shreveport Police Department (SPD) shared information regarding the arrest of a wanted man who they say made a questionable decision.
SPD says Daniel Lee Douthit, who was wanted for third-degree rape and sexual battery, drew attention to himself by posting on social media.
According to the department, Douthit took a screenshot of officers at his door during their attempt to serve an arrest warrant and posted it online, calling them “losers.”

On December 16, 2025, Douthit was apprehended by the Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office (BPSO), which acted on information about his whereabouts.
SPD says it often collaborates with BPSO, other neighborhood authorities and federal partners, including the U.S. Marshals and the FBI, to track down violent offenders.
They say their teamwork proves effective, especially when alleged criminals take bold actions. “If they were smart, we’d never catch them,” the department noted, underscoring the reality that criminals frequently make mistakes.
Douthit’s social media post became a significant misstep that ultimately led to his arrest.
SPD says that through their combined efforts, a dangerous individual was taken off the streets.
The Shreveport Police pointed out the irony of Douthit’s actions, stating, “Maybe in the future, a little less rape and social media posting and a little more learning would be beneficial.”

The department shares an online reminder to the public that no matter how criminals try to evade capture, their actions will have consequences. “Post it, run, or hide — the result is the same. Teamwork wins every time.”
