Nearly two years after a teen was slammed to the ground at a Colorado In-N-Out after he accidentally splashed water on a woman, his attacker has been sentenced.
Lucas Kalisher pleaded guilty to second-degree attempted assault – strangulation, a class five felony as part of a plea deal on Monday, Feb. 23, according to the Loveland Reporter-Herald, citing court records from the 8th Judicial District Court in Fort Collins.
The 57-year-old was previously charged with Assault in the Second Degree-Strangulation and Child Abuse, but both charges were dismissed as part of the plea deal, the Loveland Reporter-Herald reported.
In addition to 30 months of probation, Kalisher, who was previously the CEO of a private equity firm, must complete an anger management evaluation and any recommended treatment, submit an apology letter to the victim, complete 120 hours of community service, and pay restitution to the victim, the Loveland Reporter-Herald and FOX 31 reported.
The sentencing comes nearly two years after Loveland Police Officers were dispatched to the In-N-Out restaurant to investigate the assault on Aug. 4, 2024.

According to a press release from the Loveland Police Department at the time, they met with a 15-year-old male who said he and two friends were inside the restaurant “engaging in horseplay by splashing water on one another.”
The teenager said that during the interaction, an adult female was accidentally splashed with water, prompting him to approach her table to apologize.
According to a press release issued following the incident, an adult male accompanying the woman then “placed both hands around the front and back of [the teen’s] neck, pulled him down to the table and threw him backward onto the floor.”
The adult male and female departed the restaurant prior to the officers’ arrival.
After officers spent the following day interviewing witnesses and reviewing videos depicting different views of the incident, witnesses were able to come forward and identify Kalisher as the assailant.
