A People’s Liberation Army (PLAN) surface action group and an amphibious task group made separate transits through the Miyako Strait to enter the Philippine Sea Tuesday, the Japan Joint Staff Office (JSO) said Wednesday. PLAN destroyer CNS Nanjing (155), frigate CNS Huanggan (577) and fleet oiler CNS Qiandao Hu (886) were sighted sailing southeast in an area 87 miles northeast of Miyako Island around 11 p.m. Monday, according to the Japan Joint Staff Office.
