Mix of snow, ice and sleet coming in a pair of storms – Charm

Two storms are expected to bring wintry precipitation to the Providence region on Thursday and Saturday into Sunday.
The first storm is expected to bring 1-4 inches of snow and sleet accumulations and ice accumulations around a light glaze.
The second storm is expected to bring a variety of wintry precipitation, including snow and ice, Saturday night into early Sunday.

PROVIDENCE – A pair of storms will bring wintry precipitation to the region Thursday and again Saturday into Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.

The weather service has issued a winter weather advisory from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, saying “hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday morning and evening commutes.”

The advisory covers all of Rhode Island, except for Block Island, as well as portions of northern Connecticut, all of Massachusetts east of the Berkshires, except for Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket.

Expect mixed precipitation with “total snow and sleet accumulations between 1 and 4 inches and ice accumulations around a light glaze,” the weather service says.
