Bill Gates Says He's Trying to 'Be a Good Grandfather' to His Daughter's Two Kids

Bill Gates is settling into his newest title — grandfather.

The Microsoft founder, 69, appeared on Today to discuss his new memoir, Source Code: My Beginnings, and was asked whether his two grandkids — daughter Jennifer’s daughters Mia, 3 months, and Leila, 23 months — have inherited any of his skills.

“You never want to push kids to do the same thing that you did,” Gates replied, prompting host Savannah Guthrie to add, “Especially when they’re 10 months old.”

“Yeah. The oldest is turning 2 next week, so I got some nice fluffy dolls,” he said. “I’ll try and be a good grandfather, read some books like my grandparents did.”

In the post’s caption, Jennifer revealed her new daughter’s name and the date when she arrived. “Introducing Mia, who was born on our third wedding anniversary 💕,” she wrote, adding, “The best gift we could have asked for.”

Jennifer and Nassar, 33, tied the knot on Oct. 16 back in 2021.
