Tech billionaire Elon Musk has posted a video to X, formerly Twitter, the social media platform he owns, in which his 4-year-old-son, also called X, advises him to “save America.”
“What should I do?” Musk asked his son, X AE A-XII Musk, who was sitting in a car seat. “Save America,” the 4-year-old replied. “And?” his father continued. “Help Trump,” X replied.
The 53-year-old father of 12, who is the richest man in the world and also owns SpaceX and Tesla, has been the most prominent figure in Donald Trump‘s inner circle since the President-elect won reelection in November.
Musk posted the 10-second video on X on Sunday night. It was viewed 13.5 million times by Monday morning. Musk wrote in the caption, “This kid has great instincts.”
Newsweek has contacted the Trump transition team by email and Musk, via Tesla, for comment.
He and X have been a frequent presence at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach, Florida since the election.
On November 7, Elon was pictured holding X at Mar-a-Lago alongside Trump and his family.
On November 11, Trump’s 17-year-old granddaughter, Kai Trump, posed for a photo with Elon and X Musk, writing, “Elon achieving uncle status.”
X, born in 2020, is the seventh-oldest of Musk’s 12 children (by three mothers). X’s mother is Canadian singer Grimes (Claire Elise Boucher), with whom he has two other children.

Musk joined Trump’s family for Thanksgiving. A video went viral on X of him sitting alongside Trump, his wife Melania, and his youngest son Barron, while the Village People’s “YMCA” played over the loudspeakers.
Musk as undergone a political shift over the past few years. He supported the Democratic Party as recently as four years ago when he voted for President Joe Biden. He has drifted to the Republicans following the COVID-19 pandemic and disagreements with Democrats on issues like free speech, immigration and public health.
After endorsing Trump in July, Musk became an influential figure in the campaign, frequently posting in support of him on X, where the Tesla CEO has 206 million followers.
Musk gave $75 million to a pro-Trump group in the three months leading up to the election.
When Trump takes office in January, Musk will lead a new program, the Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE, alongside businessman Vivek Ramaswamy, who ran in the Republican presidential primaries.
In that role, Musk will be tasked with working to slash government waste and other regulations he believes are burdensome and unnecessary. He claims he can reduce the $6-trillion annual federal budget by $2 trillion.
