Chinese President Xi Jinping is set to meet British Prime Minister Keir Starmer on Monday on the sidelines of G20 summit in Brazil, state broadcaster China Central Television said.
Downing Street said earlier on Monday that the talks were expected to be “serious, pragmatic discussions”.
The two countries have tried to mend their ties in recent months. Trade could be one of the issues that comes up for discussion amid concern over threats by US president-elect Donald Trump to impose tariffs on imports.
In their phone call in August, one month after Starmer took office, Xi said both countries should take long-term and strategic views on bilateral relations.
