Senior Crossroads Church pastor Brian Tome has been suspended amid an independent investigation into “inappropriate physical humor,” the church release stated.
Tome, a founding member of one of the largest churches in America, will be suspended pending an independent review of inappropriate conduct from late 2015 during a video shoot.
Church spokeswoman Erin Caproni declined to answer questions when reached by phone Feb. 28 but said police are not involved.
The email, sent to church members Feb. 27, did not state what Tome is accused of doing.
However, it stated the church believed the issue was resolved after the Crossroads Spiritual Board looked into it in 2024 and hosted a productive conversation among parties involved.
“The board reminded Pastor Tome of the weight of his words and actions and formally admonished Pastor Tome to be mindful to be above reproach,” the release stated.

The release stated the same community member contacted the church again about the incident, causing Crossroads to hire an independent investigator.
“The Crossroads Spiritual Board has officially suspended Pastor Tome from all Crossroads responsibilities until the investigation is completed. We’re committed to however long the investigation will take and will provide updates as we know more.”
Tome is the senior pastor at Crossroads, which he helped found in 1995. The church has six locations throughout Greater Cincinnati and has expanded to Dayton, Columbus and Lexington, Kentucky. The church broadcasts its services to thousands each week.
Crossroads staff member recently arrested
In January, a Crossroads staff member was fired after police told the church that the staff member allegedly secretly filmed women working out at Crunch Fitness in Oakley.
“This behavior grossly violates biblical standards and expectations required of any individual on staff. As a result, he has been removed from staff,” Tome said.
Tome said Crossroads leadership was working to make sure the removal of the staff member doesn’t negatively impact the ministry.
