South Africans planning a UK trip can now tick off one of the most admin-heavy travel steps without leaving Johannesburg’s northern suburbs. Discovery has partnered with VFS Global to launch an exclusive UK visa application service for Discovery Bank clients.

The new dedicated visa centre is located inside the Discovery Store at 1 Discovery Place in Sandton, positioning itself as a one-stop travel admin hub for clients preparing to head abroad, as reported by Travel News.
According to Hylton Kallner, the move is about convenience and consolidation. The Discovery Store already allows clients to apply for IDs and passports, complete health assessments, and manage their financial needs.
Adding a UK visa application centre brings yet another essential travel service under one roof, streamlining what is often a time-consuming process.

How the service works
Discovery Bank clients must first complete their UK visa application form online via the official UK government website. Once they receive a reference number, they can book an appointment at the Sandton visa centre through the Vitality Travel website.
From there, the process becomes noticeably smoother than the standard route.
Two service tiers for Discovery Bank clients
The centre offers two levels of service, depending on a client’s Discovery Bank status:
- All Discovery Bank clients receive complimentary access to the dedicated visa centre, which includes shorter waiting times and a more personalised environment for document submission and biometric enrolment.
- Discovery Bank Purple Suite clients unlock an additional premium option: the On-Demand Mobile Visa service. With the help of dedicated Purple Travel Consultants, clients can schedule a visa appointment at their home or office in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban or Pretoria. During the visit, VFS Global processes the application, captures biometrics and collects passports on-site.
