According to online court dockets, Aaron Stogsdill, born 1994, has been charged with unlawful use of a weapon, armed criminal action and second-degree property damage.
The probable cause statement says the Greene County Sheriff’s Office responded to the incident where Stogsdill exited his residence armed with a bow and arrow.
Deputies verbally commanded Stogsdill to drop the bow, but he failed to comply, according to officials.
Stogsdill pointed the bow in a low ready position, attempting to pull back the bowstring toward law enforcement. Shortly after the standoff, the man placed the bow and arrow on the ground and surrounded to officials.
While deputies tried to place Stogsdill in hand restraints, he allegedly used physical force and tried to pull away, attempting to stand. He is accused of trying to kick deputies after being alerted of being under arrest.
After being placed in the rear passenger seat of a patrol vehicle, he started striking the door and window using his hands and legs. Authorities report that during a later inspection finding the window and door locking mechanism no longer functioning after the incident.
Stogsdill is in the Greene County Jail with a $50,000 bond. He is scheduled for a bond review hearing on Jan. 6, 2026.
