Another transport link has been added to the Greater Bay area with the extension of the HK Express “Intermodal Pass” to Macao.
The extension has been made possible thanks to a partnership between HK Express Airways, Shun Tak-China Travel and HK Airport Direct, creating a seamless network between Hong Kong, Zhuhai and Macao.
Passengers from Macao can travel via cross-border coach directly to Hong Kong International Airport, where they can connect to HK Express’ extensive Asian network.
Passengers taking the SkyPier Terminal Transfer Coach via the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (approximately 45-minute journey) can proceed directly to the passenger terminal at the Hong Kong International Airport without having to go through additional immigration, customs, or check-in procedures before boarding their HK Express flight to their destination.
While using the Intermodal Pass to travel, passengers are exempt from the Hong Kong Air Passenger Departure Tax and will not incur extra baggage check-in fees for the coach services at the SkyPier Terminal.
In the event of missed connections for flights, ferries or coaches, guaranteed automatic rebooking to the next available service is provided for added peace of mind.
KK Ong, chief commercial officer of HK Express, said the service achieves “a significant milestone” in fully connecting Hong Kong, Zhuhai and Macao.
“With this expansion to Macao’s sea and land ports, along with the existing six ferry terminals and the Zhuhai land port, our network now comprehensively covers six key Greater Bay Area cities: Macao, Zhuhai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhongshan and Dongguan.”
The Intermodal Pass is available for purchase on the HK Express official website, mobile app, or WeChat mini-programme.
