The Madrid Provincial Court has dismissed the appeal filed by UEFA, LaLiga, and the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), siding instead with the European Super League in its ongoing legal battle against UEFA over what has been deemed an abuse of power and a violation of free competition laws by the organization led by Aleksander Čeferin.

This latest ruling upholds the Super League’s long-standing argument that UEFA has effectively blocked the creation of new competitions within the football business ecosystem.
According to the Super League, UEFA imposes unjustified and disproportionate restrictions that violate Articles 101 and 102 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (TFEU).
As a result, the plaintiffs must cover the legal costs of the proceedings and have 20 days to file a new appeal before the court.
A Major Financial Blow for UEFA
The ruling also opens the door for the Super League to seek a multimillion-euro compensation claim for damages and losses, a move that could significantly impact UEFA’s finances.
