Daniel Wenn, 35, was pronounced dead at the Norman Wenn Skip Hire site in East Tuddenham following the incident, which is understood to have involved the company’s heavy machinery.
The tragedy is now being investigated by experts from the Health and Safety Executive and officers from Norfolk Constabulary.
The family firm was set up by Mr Wenn’s father, Norman, in 1985. Daniel had been a director since 2017 and took over the running of the business following his father’s retirement.

Employees at a neighbouring business said they were drinking their morning coffees around 9am on Monday when they heard “screaming, shouting and then everything went quiet”.
Sources described seeing around six police cars and an ambulance head to the scene at the Sandy Lane Industrial Estate, which is north of the A47.
The business specialises in waste management, including the disposal of non-hazardous waste and the site contains various heavy-duty machinery.

Flowers were seen at the business yesterday afternoon.
Employees at neighbouring workshops have expressed their shock and sadness and paid tribute to Mr Wenn, who was a talented stock car racer in his youth.
One neighbour, who said he knew the family well, described him as a “technical young lad”, who was “very educated”.
Another added that he was a “lovely guy” and that it was a “sheer tragedy”.
Mr Wenn, who is understood to have been a father, lived in nearby Mattishall.

The business is well known to locals in the surrounding countryside, who often see the firm’s lorries driving past their homes.
One woman said: “It’s just terrible news, especially because he was such a young person.”
“When it’s a younger generation with a young family it’s just awful”.
A Facebook post about his death from a motorsports group described him as a “1300cc stock car star” and said he had appeared in world championships and won races across East Anglia.
The tribute has attracted dozens of comments from the public, with many sharing their memories of Mr Wenn as a driver and a man.
One said: “My heart goes out to Dan’s family and friends – he was an incredible person who left a lasting impact on everyone he met, and his passion for racing was contagious.”
Another added: “Really sad news, top driver, great customer and all round smashing lad. Thoughts go out to all the family at this difficult time.”
