The title comes from a study by the travel company Ski Vertigo.
The researchers used data from the Paranormal Database, an online project where people have logged almost 15,000 strange experiences.
“The UK’s heritage is deeply intertwined with tales of the supernatural,” a Ski Vertigo spokesman said.
“And our findings provide a fascinating insight into those counties where history seems to have left a particularly spectral mark.”
Norfolk was found to be the seventh most haunted county, with 418 recorded sightings.

Blickling Hall was one of the most frequently mentioned locations – it is said to be haunted by the ghost of Anne Boleyn.
Boleyn was born on the grounds of the estate, near Aylsham, between 1501 and 1507.
She became King Henry VIII’s second wife in 1533 but was executed on May 19, 1536, after being accused of adultery, incest and conspiring against him.
People have reported seeing her ghost roaming Blickling on the anniversary of her death almost every year since.
The results come shortly after Norwich was named the eighth most haunted city in the UK.
