Jackson, 19, finished third in her T44 100m event in New Delhi as British teammate Victoria Levitt grabbed gold.
The Essex ace, who works as a nurse away from the track, is making her international debut here in the Indian capital and wants to use it as a platform heading into LA 2028.
“Everything’s been crazy – it’s been so mind-boggling,” said Jackson, who crossed the line in a time of 13.63s.
“I’m so happy to come away with a bronze medal.
“I was feeling in the shape to challenge – I’m a bit gutted with my time as I thought I was in better form than that.
“But I’m happy to come away with bronze – I can’t expect anything more.
“I’m only 19 – I’ve come here and won a bronze medal at the Worlds. It’s crazy.
“This is just a stepping stone towards LA – I’m hoping the field will stack up for that and I’m really excited.”
Jackson, who was born with club foot, is one of over 30 British athletes here in India, with the team now sponsored by official finance partner Novuna.
She juggles her career on the track with working night shifts as a children’s carer after scooping Commonwealth Youth Games silver in Trinbago two years ago.
Jackson’s bronze and Levitt’s gold came on a memorable day for Britain at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, with Hannah Cockroft also winning an 18th world title in the T34 100m.
And Jackson added: “It’s great to be involved in such a great day for Britain – it’s been crazy.
“Hannah has bene really useful – she was keeping me calm in the cool room before the race.
“I hope all my family were watching back home – my group chats have been really busy and this whole thing is just amazing.”
