The Welsh long jumper, 29, narrowly missed out on a medal in the T38 event after recording a brilliant leap of 5.17m.
Breen was just eight centimetres off a podium spot as Karen Palomeque bagged bronze behind Hungarian Luca Ekler and Palomeque’s Colombian teammate Angie Nicoll Mejia Morales.
But the two-time Paralympic medallist, who failed to qualify for her 100m final earlier this week, took confidence from her performance and says she is as motivated as ever to return to the top table of major competition.
“I was hoping for more but was happy – all you can do it your best and I did my best,” she said.
“I’m hoping for more for next year – I’m definitely more hungry and I couldn’t have given any more.
“I’ve definitely got more to come – I’m still getting stronger and am really excited.
“I’ve still got that belief – it’s going to come.”
Breen is one of over 30 British athletes here in the Indian capital, with the team now sponsored by official finance partner Novuna.
And another is Birmingham star Maddie Down, 17, who similarly recorded a personal best and finished fifth just behind Breen.
Breen, a two-time World Championship medallist, hailed Down’s precocity and says many things about her remind her of her former self.
“She’s done so well and I’m so proud of her,” she added.
“She’s up and coming, growing and getting better than an athlete.
“There are lots of younger ones coming through, which is great.
“I’ll now explore India, which is really exciting, then have a bit of time off when I get back home.”
