Man held for stealing mobile phones from passengers at Chennai Central

The Government Railway Police (GRP) at Chennai Central arrested a man for allegedly stealing mobile phones from passengers at the station. The police said they recovered 10 stolen phones worth about ₹1 lakh from the suspect.

During a routine patrol, officers noticed the suspect attempting to steal phones from sleeping passengers and intercepted him. He was identified as Vinoth, 36, of Medavakkam, who had been regularly engaging in such thefts. After interrogation, he was remanded in judicial custody.
